Subsea Markets

Company Overview

Subsea Engineering Associates is an independent consultancy specialising in subsea & pipelines engineering. We provide a comprehensive range of integrated engineering and project management services to all phases of subsea projects from our offices in Perth, Australia.

We believe in innovative thinking. We use our expertise and our proprietary automation technology to deliver efficient, practical solutions to complex subsea and pipeline engineering problems.

Technology Focused

SEA has developed the ICE Platform, a suite of technologies for automation of engineering processes that vastly accelerates all aspects of subsea and pipeline engineering. SEA’s engineers operate in high definition, using automation to process and analyse vast quantities of data to avoid the need to introduce conservative assumptions to simplify the analysis task at hand. SEA’s approach delivers significant savings to offshore construction and remediation scopes, improves decision confidence and delivers insights faster.

Breadth of Expertise

SEA’s engineering expertise encompasses all aspects of subsea system design, from understanding the evolution of reservoir characteristics through to materials engineering, structures, pipelines, shore crossings and floating systems. With proven engineering automation tools for all of these areas, SEA is able to offer a tightly integrated engineering team capable of whole-of-system optimisation.

Local & Global Track Record

SEA operates across all project phases, and currently supports the vast majority of local operators in Western Australia by maintaining digital twins of approximately 90% of WA’s subsea pipelines that are used to rapidly derive insight from survey findings, study future operation scenarios and monitor system integrity. SEA is also globally active, having delivered detailed design and construction support for the Balticconnector Offshore Pipeline between Finland and Estonia, in addition to owners engineering and FEED engineering roles on a range of other European projects. In the Americas, SEA is actively supporting deep water SURF developments and a vast network of onshore pipelines for a global operator using automated engineering techniques. Finally, SEA is leading the development of integrated early-phase subsea system concepts to guide the selection for the next phase of expansion for a significant local project, in addition to providing Detailed design services for Woodside’s deep water Scarborough Export Trunkline.
